**General Position**

We are looking to employ on a 'bank' or full time (30hr /week) or part time contract, an enthusiastic and professional domestic to work in our beautiful care home in Eastcote. This position is on a 'as and when required' basis and will cover weekdays and weekends.

**PURPOSE OF POST**

Undertake cleaning and domestic duties to maintain St Vincent’s in a clean, tidy, safe and attractive manner.

Working to maintain a high standard of performance in line with St VIncent’s Nursing Home policies and procedures

**MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Undertake various cleaning tasks as described in published cleaning schedules
- Undertaking routine, regular and ad hoc cleaning duties as instructed
- Undertake deep cleaning of rooms and prior to new resident arriving
- Using various cleaning methods, e.g. vacuuming, damp dusting, polishing, spot cleaning high and low level cleaning maintain the Home in a clean, safe and attractive appearance
- Ensure timely cleaning of residents room, offices and public areas as instructed
- Maintain high specification of cleaning in dining areas on daily basis
- Report any defects of equipment, fabric or the building to your manager for rectification
- Maintain cleaning equipment, stores and cupboards in a neat and tidy manner
- Empty waste bins and collect waste products and transfer them to the waste compound ensuring the area is left in a clean and tidy manner
- Participate in annual appraisal and professional development review with your line manager
- Participate in team meetings to ensure that the home is taking into consideration any requirements laid down by new legislation or CQC guidance.
- In all cleaning task adhere to published methods, schedules, frequencies and use of approved cleaning tools and chemicals.
- Ensure policies and procedures of the Home are understood and complied with.

**CONFIDENTIALITY**:
Information relating to patients, employees and business of the Home must be treated in the strictest confidence. Under no circumstances should such information be discussed with any unauthorised persons or organisations. All staff must operate within the requirements of the Whistleblowing Policy.

**HEALTH AND SAFETY**:
Employees are required to ensure they are aware of, and comply with, policies and procedures relating to Health & Safety (whether statutory or Home) and assist in ensuring the compliance of other staff.

Comply with the NO Smoking Policy. Applicants should be aware that it will not be possible to smoke throughout working hours. You may be required from time to time to work within other areas or sections of St Vincent’s. Permanent changes of base will only be made after consultation with the post holder.

**WORKING TIME REGULATIONS**:
The home is committed to the principle that no member of staff should work, on average, more than 48 hours per week. Staff who do exceed this limit need to complete an opt our form. Any member if staff who undertakes work outside the Home, regardless of whether they exceed 48 hours or not, must inform their manager of this in writing.
