**GENERAL SUMMARY**

Working as part of Celeros Operations Management team, the primary role of the Welding Technical Authority / Fabrication Cell Leader is to manage the technical aspects of the welding/fabrication area to ensure compliance with applicable EN and ASME codes and act as the first line of management accountable for the safe and efficient operation of their cell and others when required.

This includes, but is not limited to, people management of the Cell team when allocating daily tasks, managing performance and development issues, cell workflow, as well as meticulously always maintaining standards and KPI’s.

**PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)**

On an ongoing basis, the Welding Technical Authority/Cell Leader must assume full responsibility and will be held accountable for the following:
**Welding Technical Authority principal duties**:

- Compilation of Procedure Qualification Records, Weld Procedure Specification and selection of appropriate weld consumables as required
- Compilation and Issue of purchase requisitions for all welding consumables and welding qualification test materials
- Co-ordination and supervision of welding qualification tests, seeking approval from third parties and issue reports upon completion of tests
- Subject Matter Expert in relation to welding qualification and processes, allowing technical queries to be managed to suit business needs internally and externally
- Maintaining of qualified welders list and organising training and upgrading of welders in accordance with the requirements of the procedures and customer requirements
- Control and issue of welding material
- Maintaining an overview of welding and fabrication operations to ensure compliance with procedures
- Maintaining instrument and equipment calibration records and arranging for the calibration of instruments and equipment in accordance with the calibration policy instruction

**Cell Leader duties in addition to above**:

- Maintaining a positive/safe working environment ensuring housekeeping is maintained at the highest of standards
- Lead and manage daily stand cell up meetings, communicating all key messages including but not limited to safety moments, toolbox talks and work priorities
- Maintain/ communicate cell data performance and information boards to employees, colleagues, customers, and other managers from across the organisation
- Drive positive KPI results, ensuring you hold true to our values including always doing the right thing
- Be responsible for and manage a proactive and sustainable 5s culture within the cell
- Take a positive approach to coaching, developing and performance managing cell team members when required
- Ensure standard operating work procedures are always followed
- Monitor/Control actual versus estimated operation times
- Identify and implement operational improvements
- Ensure productive work is allocated to team members in line with the cell plan/schedule and overarching business plan/forecast
- Liaise with appropriate support functions (quality, engineering, inspection, planning, purchasing etc.) to resolve issues and any potential production constraints in a timely manner
- Work closely with continuous improvement team to introduce improvement programs across area of responsibility
- Ensure start/stop and break times are always adhered to
- Control of overtime working in line with production requirements
- Ensure efficient material workflow within and between cells
- Ensure booking discipline is always maintained
- Ensure self-inspection procedures are fully adhered to
- Ensure end of line goods are high quality, raising any quality concerns as soon as possible
- Deliver regular communications to team members
- Conduct periodic audits as required by EHS and Quality departments
- Raise NCRs as and when required
- Any other duties as deemed reasonable including carrying out ad hoc welding in the event of the Welding team being absent from work and/or to meet critical deadlines
- To provide training and support to all Welding and Fabrication apprentices

**People Manager Responsibilities**
