**About the role**
Working in the Information Governance team, you will help in delivering support and guidance for the handling of personally identifiable information which complies with data protection law and outlines best practice. The Senior Information Governance Officer role is a cross-functional role across all Macmillan directorates, where you will be:

- Managing and responding to queries received into the Information Governance Inboxes.
- Logging and processing data protection impact assessments (DPIAs) for high risk initiatives, advise on areas of risk, record risks and decisions made, and follow up on actions with DPIA owners.
- The completion of legitimate interest assessments to ensure information processing is lawful and any impact on the individual is clearly understood.
- Assist maintaining the information asset register of Macmillan's information assets.
- Prepare information governance updates and attend the departmental information governance groups meetings.

This is dual location role, requiring one day a week in the London Office.

**About you**
- You will have demonstrable experience and knowledge of being able to work independently and as part of a team.
- You have an ability to manage competing priorities and meeting deadlines.
- Your close attention to detail skills will be essential and you will be able to record information accurately.
- It would be great to have a recognised professional qualification and / or experience of working in a similar role - e.g. data protection or a role where problem solving and working with accuracy are part of your daily
- You will be enthusiastic and enjoy working closely with many different people across different teams.
