Assistant Psychologist

Cygnet Healthcare is seeking to recruit a full time, experienced and motivated Assistant Psychologist to join Cygnet Delfryn. This role will be working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Cygnet Delfryn offers a 28-bed male hospital and a 24-bed female hospital, which are both high dependency inpatient rehabilitation services for patients with complex needs, as well as a supporting 6-bed service in our community step-down house. The service is designed to provide an environment that promotes mental health recovery by focusing on space, personal privacy and dignity.

Cygnet Delfryn is a multi-disciplinary and psychologically informed service. The focus is on nurturing an enabling environment to deliver a clinical model, developed specifically to meet the needs of service users within an operational framework, providing a high quality environment for promoting long-term recovery.

**Job Role**

The role of the Assistant Psychologist will be to support and enhance the psychological care of clients within Delfryn by assisting the Qualified Psychologist in the delivery and evaluation of effective services that meet Cygnet’s Healthcare objectives, national strategic and policy guidelines, commissioner requirements and user and carer needs and expectations. To thereby help understand, prevent and ameliorate psychological distress and disorder and improve mental health and wellbeing of clients. The role involves the administration, scoring and report writing of psychometric assessments, standardised risk assessments, clinical formulation and supervised individual and group interventions, as well as other aspects of the delivery of psychological interventions. Clinical supervision will be provided as an important part of personal and professional development, and additional training will be supported.
