We are looking for a passionate and determined individual to join our dedicated team of Support Workers in our Supported Living service in Blackwood.

We have a 25 & 30 hour part time, permanent opportunity available. This service needs to be staffed 24/7 so you will be required to work various shift patterns including days, evenings, weekends and wakeful nights as part of a rolling rota. Day shifts are typically split between 7am-11pm. You will receive your rotas at least 2 to 4 weeks in advance so you have time to plan your social life around work.

**Due to the needs of the individuals we support in this service the post holder for this role is required to be female.**

**Due to the needs of the individuals we support in this service, a full UK manual driving licence is required.**

**What is the role?**

This service is the home of 3 individuals with learning disabilities and complex needs. This is a high support need service and will be working with these incredible individuals to enhance their various skills and support them with daily activities.

The team here enable the individuals to live independently and provide them with the best life they can possibly have. They engage with them and give them a sense of normality.

**Duties Include**:

- Administering medication
- Personal care
- Emotional support
- Domestic duties
- Supporting in the commuting
- Support with activities
- Meal preparation
- Ensuring a healthy balanced diet

**What skills and experience do you need?**

A background of working with people with physical or mental health needs is desired, but not necessary as full training and support from senior staff and management is provided.  More important are;
- A passion to work with and enable people to live as independent a life as possible
- An enthusiasm and passion for making a difference to people’s lives
- A strong initiative and ability to work alone as well as being a great team player

- An hourly rate of £12.15 making the annual salary £23,376 (FTE)
