**The role: SQL Database Administrator**

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Junior SQL Server Database Administrator to join our Database Administration Team supporting MMC.

This is the perfect role for someone with experience supporting SQL Server Databases looking for their next step within a Global organization.

The role is hybrid office based with the option to work remotely up to 2 days a week.

**What can you expect?**
- We are looking for an SQL Server DBA with experience installing, creating, administrating, maintaining and supporting databases by ensuring their performance, availability and security in order to provide a stable database environment.

**We will rely on you for**:

- Data Refresh/Migration
- Plan and execute strategic database activities.
- Install, configure, and upgrade SQL Server software and products.
- Creating and sizing database storage structures and database objects
- Capacity planning and make recommendations accordingly.
- Planning for and actual backup and recovery of databases.
- Configure Log shipping, Mirroring, Clustering, and Always On
- Database administration of SQL Server 2016/2017/2019, including installation, patching, support, monitoring, backup and recovery.
- Troubleshooting DB related alerts
- Backup/Restore,
- Work as part of a team and providing 24/7 support to global in house users when required
- Responsible for troubleshooting 80-90% of all database issues in order to keep existing databases running efficiently.

**What you need to have**:

- Minimum of 2 years’ hands-on experience as database administrator of SQL Server Databases in production environments.
- Technology Knowledge on Always On/HA/Mirroring/Migration Strategy
- Ability to work independently and as a team on multiple tasks and commitment to deadlines.
- Experience in managing 24/7 production server, huge databases, and multiple instances.
- Experience with MS SQL Server log shipping, replication, database mirroring and high availability
- Experience with MS SQL Agent and features: maintenance plan, scheduled jobs, alert, and DB Mail
- Experience with performance tuning, execution plan, trouble shooting, index and statistics.
- Good knowledge of active-active cluster, SAN storage, data partitioning, multi-thread environment
- Good knowledge of and skills in database security design and implementation
- Understanding and experience of Change Control and ticketing systems such as ServiceNow
- Familiarity with MSSQL features such as TDE, Compression, MDW and DMVs

**What makes you stand out**:

- Experience migrating on site infrastructure to AWS / Azure
- Database operation within AWS / Azure.
- Experience with Idera and/or Data Dog monitoring and NetBackup for SQL Server
- PowerShell knowledge.
- Knowledge of SSRS, SSAS, and SSIS
- Experience supporting Oracle, Mongo, PostGresSQL or MySQL
