CK Group are recruiting for a Senior Site Chemist to join a hazardous waste management company based at their site near Brownhills, Walsall on a full time, permanent shift basis for a salary of £30,000 to £31.500 depending on experience.
Please note that this is a shift role involving nights and working in the outdoors, not in a laboratory.
This is a shift-based role working 40 hrs pw with the morning shift from 6am-3pm, the afternoon shift from 1pm-10pm and night shift from 10pm-6am. The night shift carries a 25% salary increase.
**Location**:
The site is based near Walsall and is commutable from Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Leicester, Derby and Stoke on Trent.
As a Senior Chemist, the purpose of the role will be to supervise the Site Chemists and support the Management Team.
**The main duties of your role will be**:

- Ensuring all incoming consignments of wastes have appropriate paperwork
- Ensuring all appropriate paperwork has been completed correctly and copies are held on site and with hauliers
- Ensuring all waste is labelled correctly
- Responsible for the completion of waste safety checks to allow acceptance to site, storage safety and processing and/or onwards transfer.
- Responsible for the completion of regular sampling of received waste to then further supply to internal laboratory for analysis.
- Ensuring paperwork is passed through for scanning within 48 hours of arrival.
- Ensuring all waste is being appropriately stored in line with Sector Guidance
- Processing waste as required - to include bulking, sorting, segregating, and listing

**As a Senior Chemist, you will have the following qualifications, skills and experience**:

- Degree Level or HNC Qualification in Chemistry or a similar related field
- Experience in the Waste Industry and SAP experience is desirable.
- Competent Microsoft Office user, in particular Excel.
- Previous Supervisor/Manager experience is beneficial
