Horizon Teachers are working with an Alternative Provision based in Croydon who are looking to appoint a Behaviour Mentor to support their students in lessons and help manage their behaviour. The school cater for Secondary aged students and the role willcontinue from April 2023 until the end of the academic year, on a full-time basis.
Many of the students at the school have challenging behaviour and may have been permanently excluded from mainstream school or be at risk of exclusion, so you will need to be passionate to quickly build rapport with the students. Experience working within asimilar setting or with children that have social, emotional, or behavioural needs would be very desirable.
Being a Behaviour Mentor within this school you will need to be patient, energetic and resilient in nature and be able to be flexible with a positive attitude to create a relationship with the students. This will be a very rewarding role for the right personand will pay up to £500 per week.
Behaviour Mentor Responsibilities:

- Supporting a mixed class of students aged 12 -16 (KS3 & KS4).
- Carrying out behaviour management in line with the school's policies and procedures
- Supporting pupils inside and outside the classroom.
- Accompanying and supporting students with their academic and personal development.
- Being proactive in the class to ensure your learning support is tailored to each child's individual need.
- Using skills learned such as Team Teach or Manual Handling (desirable)
