Day to day care of patients in the neonatal service and on call (from home).

The post will attract 8.0 DCCs and 2.0 SPAs.

This is a neonatal consultant permanent position to join the 13 strong consultant neonatology team at University Hospitals NHS Trust foundation trust (UHS). Neonatal services are based at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton and the Princess Royal Hospital in Haywards Heath. This post is based predominantly within services at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton with approximately one in every 6-8 weeks at the Princess Royal Hospital in Haywards Heath. The post would be suitable for a Neonatology Grid trainee but other applicants with suitable experience and characteristics will be be considered.

The consultant team operate a rotational system to cover in and outpatient care at RSCH and PRH.

General Clinics occur on a Tuesday (approx 1 in 4). There are also joint surgical antenatal clinics and Developmental clinics the post holder will be expected to contribute to.

I year schedule of growing skills and 2 year Bayley 3 Neurodevelopmental follow up in OP

On call duties are non resident and paid at 5% supplement

The job plan will be based on 10 PAs to include 8.0 DCC PAs and 2.0 SPAs, and will allow for flexible working and time shifting. This will be worked flexibly over a seven day working week.

The current job plan is based on 42 working weeks per year.

**At present the working weeks are divided as follows**: 5 x NI.1/5 x N1.2/ 5x N2/ 5 x PRH/ 3 x N3 / 5x POST N1.2/ 6x Clinic admin/ 2x Transport 2x SPA.

These do vary slightly and may vary slightly in future.
