We are currently recruiting for a temporary IT Officer for a centrally based Oxford University Department, starting asap on a full-time basis.

**Duties**:

- Confidently advise staff and students, using appropriate methods of communication tailored to the audience answering straightforward questions or IT solutions, interpreting guidance to answer more complex questions, or redirecting as appropriate
- Provide first line support for the Department including working with IT hardware, software, telephone, Audio-Visual support, computer and printer management and user accounts
- Prepare standard purchase requisitions for new equipment, most typically PCs, laptops, Macs and IT accessories
- Planning and carrying out IT inductions for new staff
- Ensure full compliance with GDPR and Information Security policies and promote awareness of phishing attempts

**Essential Criteria**:

- Strong customer service focus and flexible ‘can do’ attitude
- Educated to A level standard with GCSE (grade A-C) level English and Maths, or equivalent
- Experience of working in an IT team / IT role
- Up-to-date knowledge of core IT first line support basics
- Awareness of data protection and information security guidelines
- Ability to clearly and accurately communicate technical information to non-technical customers
- Demonstrable ability to prioritise workload and produce accurate, detailed work within deadlines
- Experience of providing a high level of customer service with accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to undertake professional development and training
