1.Good locations with foot traffic and the right demographics and within reasonable distances.
2.A good “fresh” cause with real appeal to the public and that also feels worthwhile to the fundraiser and makes a real difference.
3.A good company that acts with honesty and transparency and treats fundraisers with respect and pays a fair rate for the work.
**The Role**
They need to recruit high-quality fundraisers to add to our existing team and help us make the most of the opportunity that they now have to significantly increase the money we raise for their charity partners from regular donation programmes.
They are building a sustainable model where fundraisers can work in great venues regularly but without exhausting those venues through being overworked, have high quality advanced bookings that you can rely on, not have to have excessive travel time or constant overnight stays, and be able to specialise in excelling at promoting a small number of genuinely worthwhile charity causes that resonate with the public.

The role is working as a face-to-face charity fundraiser within major retail stores on behalf of Sue Ryder raising funds to support the local hospice or its free national bereavement support services.
Sue Ryder is one of the UK’s leading providers of palliative end-of-life care and one of the UK's most trusted and loved charities. Its local hospices provide free palliative and end of life care to local families. But now it is doing, even more, to help people across the UK.
Sue Ryder's Online Bereavement Support makes it easy to connect with the right support - whether that's information and resources, qualified counsellors or a community of others with similar experiences. These services are free and easy to access on computer, smartphone or tablet. More than 150,000 people used the online bereavement community last year and 4,700 free on-line bereavement counselling sessions were provided.

We have great charity partners that we are recruiting supporters for including Sue Ryder local hospices and the Sue Ryder national campaign to support people through bereavement with other compelling human health charities due to start in early 2024.

**How you can make a difference**
It costs £55 million each year to provide these vital services for free and the vast majority of the charity’s income is self-generated. So “we can only provide free care to people, because people care for us.”
The Sue Ryder lottery has raised more than £15 million to fund the charity’s amazing work over the years. A typical fundraiser will raise more than £400,000 for the charity every year that they work for. So, you would be doing a job where after 5 years of work, through your professionalism, integrity, and hard work you could raise more than £2 million for charities that deal, quite literally in matters of life and death. Regular donations are vital to keeping these charities going.
