Praeluceo Group Ltd is seeking to appoint a new Head of Finance and Accounts to head up the group accounting function.

Group subsidiaries include Honeyman Group Ltd, HoneymanPharmaLabs Ltd, HoneymanEnviroLabs Ltd which are all based in Barnard Castle. Additionally, Scenic Air Tours North East Ltd (trading as AeroSchool) operate from Teesside Airport and Honeyman Water Ltdare based in Shildon. Currently all accounting functions are carried out within a team of three at our Barnard Castle head office.

This is an exciting position for an individual with willingness to learn and increase their knowledge inline with business expansion and acquisition.

As Head of Finance and Accounts, it is expected that you would be responsible for the entire accounting function of the business through team management. Accounts assistants currently manage sales & purchase ledgers, bank reconciliations, expenses and otherbasic accounting tasks.

Reporting to the Managing Director, in addition to the basic accounting functions, specific duties for the Head of Finance & Accounts include:

- To prepare management accounts on a monthly and annual basis, including cross company transactions as part of the Group trading structure.
- To work closely with the two main subsidiary company management teams in working on forecasts and cashflows and to present monthly figures in a timely fashion.
- To prepare, pay and submit company VAT/HMRC submissions.
- To provide management and analysis reports as required to assist the operations board.
- To be responsible for credit control; ensuring low debtor days and escalating non payment accordingly.
- To be responsible for the maintenance of the company bank accounts.
- To be responsible for the calculation and payment of wages, overtime, PAYE/NI, pensions and preparation of all associated documentation (payslips,submissions, P60/45 etc). The vast majority of staff are salaried.
- To prepare VAT returns for both UK & Irish VAT
- To work alongside our appointed accountants & auditors in the preparation of annual accounts and to manage the annual end of year audit.
- To provide the appointed accountants information for calculation of directors' P11Ds.
- To keep afoot of changing rules and regulations
- To work with the Managing Director on assessing the financial performance of additional investments and acquisitions.

In order to carry out the responsibilities of the role, the following experience is expected:

- In depth knowledge and experience of Sage 50 cloud professional accounts & payroll (with pension bolt on)
- Understanding of the auto-enrolment pension process
- Knowledge and experience of running a payroll system.
- To have a broad knowledge of company secretarial requirements
- Office software packages in particular Excel, Word & Outlook

A valid driving licence must be maintained for this role as it will involve occasional travel to our subsidiary sites at Teesside Airport & Shildon.
