We are seeking a friendly, conscientious Prescriptions clerk with a genuine desire to help people, to work 20 hours per week over 3 days (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday). Experience is really helpful but not essential as training will be provided in line with the requirements of the General Pharmaceutical Council. It is essential though to be a tidy, organised worker and to care for our patients so that we provide them with great customer service.

**Job Summary**:

- To support the dispensary team by providing clerical and administrative support, ensuring that patients repeat medication requests are processed in line with practice protocols.
- Offer general assistance to the dispensary team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone
- Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way
- Undertake a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the dispensary
- Facilitate effective communication between patients and members of the primary health care team, secondary care and other associated healthcare agencies
- Promote healthy living to patients and customers

**Job responsibilities**:

- To maintain complete confidentiality at all times in matters relating to patients, their carers, practice staff and the business of the practice.
- To raise any queries on requests - adhering to practice protocols
- To accurately keep a record the prescriptions to be collected by non Granta Pharmacies and dispensing entities
- To act as a ‘runner’ when prescriptions need to be signed by the GP during surgery.
- To assist with the counting of prescriptions before they are sent off for pricing
- To assist with general housekeeping duties, checking expiry dates, checking medication which has not been collected by patients and other general administrative tasks appropriate to the job role and as delegated from time to time by the appropriate line manager
- To attend training sessions as required, either in-house or within reasonable travelling distance of the Practice.
- To adhere to Practice policies and protocols as set out in the Staff Handbook and the Health and Safety Book.
- Other duties appropriate, to the job role, as delegated from time to time by the line manager

Part-time hours: 20 per week

**Salary**: £11.42 per hour
