**Job Title**: Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO)

**Role Purpose**:

**Key Responsibilities**:
- Develop and implement the school’s SEN policy and strategy.
- Coordinate support for students with SEND, including the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Liaise with teachers, teaching assistants, and external professionals to ensure effective delivery of SEN support.
- Lead staff training on SEN awareness and strategies to support inclusion.
- Manage the SEN budget and resources effectively.
- Conduct assessments to identify students’ needs and monitor their progress.
- Advise and support parents of students with SEND.
- Ensure compliance with legal requirements related to SEN.
**Requirements**:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- National Award for Special Educational Needs Coordination (or willingness to work towards it within the required timeframe if not already obtained).
- Experience working with students with SEND in an educational setting.
- Strong understanding of SEN legislation, guidance, and best practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with all school stakeholders.
- An Enhanced DBS check.
