Steelwork Estimator

**Estimator Required**

Our client is well established Family-owned company founded in the early 1980’s who have been able to maintain a high reputation within the steelwork industry, manufacturing high quality products whilst providing a dedicated and proficient service. The resources which this company include are fully automated fabrication workshops, incorporating a CNC controlled saw/drill line and fitting machines. On-site blast cleaning and painting facilities also provide the capabilities for single/multi-coat paint systems.

**Steelwork Estimator - Position Overview**
- Initial tender appraisal and completion of the tender review checklist.
- Undertaking take-offs / quantifying steelwork from engineer drawings or subcontract tender design drawings.
- Reviewing project building details, interfaces with other trades, site parameters etc.
- Producing either a lump sum price or completed bill of quantities based on the tender drawings.
- Liaising with production / contracts departments when reviewing the enquiry details.
- Sending out enquiries to subcontractors for pricing i.e. tender designs, drawing offices etc. along with obtaining prices for subcontract packages i.e. metal decking, PCC components, bending/rolling etc.
- Producing purchase orders for subcontract tender design, as necessary.
- Contacting / liaising with clients for time extensions and general information requests to enable accurate tenders to be prepared on a day-to-day basis.
- Typing a formal quotation to the client
- Liaising with the Sales Director on a day-to-day basis with regards to reviewing enquiries, quotations, and the progress of each project.
- Progressing / liaising with Clients for project and quotation feedback after submission.
- Attending pre or post tender meetings with clients to assist the Sales Director

**Steelwork Estimator - Position Requirements**
- Previous experience as a steelwork estimator
- Detailed technical knowledge of the steelwork industry
- Experience working on commercial tenders
- Be commercially astute
- Possess excellent communication skills
- Be able to work well within a team environment
- Be ambitious and determined
- Proactive problem solver

**Steelwork Estimator - Position Remuneration**
- Salary for this role is: £35K - £40K pa
- Mon-Fri, 8am - 5:30pm
- 28 days + Bank Holidays
- Pension

**Salary**: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
