We are recruiting for a Career Advisor to join Waltham Forest, Full Time, Paying up to £22.58 Per Hour.

**Job Purpose**:
The Employment, Business and Skills (EBS) team is the London Borough of Waltham Forest’s jobs and business delivery mechanism. The post-holder will develop and deliver specialist support and advice with Participants on the CIHEAP in order to improve theiremployment prospects within the Creative sector. The Creative Careers Coach will work across our 7-borough sub-region and will be responsible for delivery across one or more borough including Waltham Forest.

**Main Responsibilities**:

- Provide expert information, advise and guidance
- Support provided through to a satisfactory conclusion
- Provide expert info Strategic and operational input is provided to wider business planning and delevopment
- Participate needs are identify
- CIHEAP tasks are delivered to agree specification, timescales and budgets.
- Work effectively as part of a team, providing cover to colleagues as appropriate
- Support provided through to a satifactory conclusion delivery of effect support that encourages inclusion and participation and that meet the priority target groups
- The CIHEAP is integrated as much as possible and senior officers are advised of onany specific infomation that is necessary o steer project developement
- Accurate, ESF/GLA compliant and relevent information /report/ documentation are produced
- Trends and issues are identified and prioritised
- Management decision making is supported
- Changes to systems, policies and / or procedures are identified and recommended
- All updates, amendments, delevelopments are tested and approved prior to delivery
- Participants receive prompt, accurate plicy/ procedural updates
- Agreed improvements are deloveped, delivered and evaluated
- Individualised approach is undertaken to ensure client needs are met and that they receive the most appropriate level of support
- Regular contact is maintained with all clients to ensure information held is up to date and revelant
- Additional interview preparation and or confidence building sessions are provided where participant
- All documentationn/evidence requirements are met
- Caseloads are managed effectively and ESF/GLA compliant paricipant paper and electronice records are updated accordingly
- Reports to demonstrate activity and performaonce are produced for ESF/GLA assessment and analysis needed

**Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills and Experience**:

- Understanding of the key issues facing the recruitment industry, including skills shortages and training methods.
- Detailed or specialist knowledge of the recruitment needs of the creative sector relevant in the sub-region
- Knowledge of the recruitment processes required by a range of employers.
- Understanding of the barriers faced by disadvantaged groups in accessing employment, and ways in which these can be addressed and overcome
- Knowledge of Welfare Benefits and In-Work Benefits systems and how these affect unemployed people returning to work.
- Experience of working on employment and training initiatives with multi-agency partners.
- Experience of working within the account management field with employers to develop and implement new recruitment schemes.
- Experience of working with jobseekers including, those that are disadvantaged in the labour market and face barriers to employment.
- Experience of assessing and matching participants to vacancies.
- Experience of, and a commitment to, working within Equal Opportunities objectives relating to employment and service delivery.
- Experience of delivering work in a target and deadline driven environment.
- An ability to work effectively on partnership projects across organisational boundaries and to tight deadlines.
- An ability to work effectively with employers and external partners
- Excellent verbal communications skills including an ability to communicate and negotiate with diplomacyin a range of settings at senior levels.
- Excellent written communications skills including the ability to market and promote the service to a range of audiences in a variety of settings
