Role Specification

**Role Objective**:
The Head of Print is responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective running of the print department and that individual’s tasks are consistently delivered in line with company expectations. To ensure that the sales strategy is developed, implemented, and achieved in line with the wider Banner corporate strategy.

**WHAT WILL I BE DOING?**
- Work with the Sales Manager to develop the sales strategy for the category.
- Lead the category sales strategy and implement in line with the wider channel sales strategy.
- Manage the print account managers to grow sales and margin to achieve targets set.
- Understand, document, and present the key requirements of the print customers and suppliers, and ensure we evolve the print category to ensure we exceed those requirements.
- Take full P&L management responsibility for the category.
- Understand the competitive landscape, market trends and future requirements of the category.
- Work collaboratively with all internal colleagues and departments fostering a culture that ensures the company succeeds.
- Responsibility to lead all category development with the sales manager, working with the key internal stakeholders.
- Performance management of staff and use of disciplinary process if required.
- Liaising with sales teams and other areas of the business to identify issues, obtain feedback and improve productivity and efficiencies within the department.
- Ensuring all standards, procedures and legal obligations and regulations are followed and adhered to, always.
- To manage and oversee staffing levels and holiday to maintain staffing levels.
- To oversee and arrange staff recruitment, staff training, and monitor ongoing training requirements.
- To manage stock requirements and liaise with relevant suppliers and print providers.
- To meet and liaise with sales manager to discuss print department figures and performance as and when required.

**WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?**

**Experience**
- A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience of leadership.
- A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience of running a category P&L.
- Experience in managing suppliers and building strategic relationships.
- Experience in tendering related products and maximising the benefits for the business.

**Requirements**:

- Ability to manage multiple complex challenges within tight deadlines.
- Proven success working in a fast paced, complex high growth area.
- Keen commercial sense with the ability to make critical longer-term decisions.
- The personality to lead, encourage and develop a team.
- The ability to spot, encourage and develop future talent within the team.
- High standard of literacy and numeracy.
- Excellent oral and written communication.
