Clinical Technologist

The Electronic Assistive Technology Service (EATS) provides specialist equipment for people living with some of the most complex disabilities. The service covers three aspects; voice output communication aids for people who are unable to communicate verbally, environmental control systems for people with profound physical impairments who are unable to operate standard controls for equipment around their home, and access to computer technology for patients unable to use standard access methods (e.g. mouse, keyboard, touchscreen etc).

The main duties will be the installation and maintenance / repair of communication aids (including wheelchair mounting), environmental control systems, and computer access technology.

The EAT service is a progressive and supportive team, consisting of a mix of professions with each member bringing a different skill set and perspective to the service. The service adopt a flexible approach to office / home working, and has a favourable approach to mileage costs.

The main duties will be the installation, maintenance and repair of EAT systems for patients in the community. The role of Clinical Technologist would involve close collaboration with all members of the EATS teams - clinical, technical and administrative.
