**The Role**

You will work as part of a small team to offer operational support to all teams across Crown Commercial Service (CCS). You will have responsibility for managing the operational support mailbox and Policy area of the Knowledge Centre. You will gain exposure to all areas of CCS and gain first hand knowledge of the regulatory and legal environment that underpins everything CCS does.

**Strategy, Policy and Governance overview**

Strategy Policy and Governance’s (SPG) purpose is to enable the effective leadership of CCS, acting as the point of coordination, the conscience and a centre of excellence for CCS by:

- helping to define and implement our ambition, vision and strategic objectives;
- ensuring CCS successfully implements government policy and operates effectively within regulation;
- coordinating and driving effective decision making; and
- acting as the repository and guardian of those decisions, so that CCS operates with consistency, knowledge and foresight.

We consist of four teams - the Strategy Team which coordinates and communicates CCS strategy, the Governance team which provides the secretariat for CCS's executive and non-executive governance boards, the CEO office team which supports the Chief Executive and manages ministerial, Cabinet Office and parliamentary engagement and the Policy and Legal team which ensures CCS delivers government commercial policy, remains compliant with relevant procurement legislation and manages its legal risks effectively.

**Team Summary**

The Operational Support team within the Policy and Legal Team is responsible for delivering operational policy advice to CCS. The team also links to the other sub-teams which are Contracts and Legal, Commercial Policy and Commercial Delivery. It also has an important relationship with both the Commercial and Litigation teams of the Government Legal Department.

**Key Accountabilities**

The post-holder will be responsible for:

- Management of the Policy and Legal team Operational Support Mailbox on Salesforce.
- Management of the Policy and Legal team’s Knowledge Centre content.
- Prepare reports, analyse data and identify trends in the Operational Support function.
- Provide first line responses to Bronze tier queries for live commercial agreements.
- Lead continuous improvement projects within the team.
- Ensure effective implementation of any improvement initiatives, acting as project manager to enable roll out
- Acting as secretariat for the CI working group
- Providing administrative assistance to the Senior policy advisor as identified and agreed.
- Relationship management skills and proven ability to build, manage and maintain collaborative relationships with a range of stakeholders.
- Ability to understand issues and make reasoned decisions based on evidence and commercial knowledge/experience.
- Oral and Written communication skills, including presentation skills.
