Senior Data Scientist

Are you an experienced Senior Data Scientist ?
Do you have excellent Python or R experience ?
Have you built predictive models ?
I’m working with a leading Banking organisation who has built its success and reputation on providing excellent service. You will be working in a high profile team where the work is really interesting and challenging.
They are looking for a technical specialist who uses Data Science to develop, test and implement predictive models that deliver benefit to the business and the customer. You will be working in a project based environment to drive forward research with tangiblebenefits.
Although their office is in Edinburgh this can be treated as a remote role if needed as long as you are willing to travel to the office from time to time.
The role:
- You will be part of an Agile team comprising Data Scientists, Analysts and business stakeholders.
- You will not just create models but perform all the ancillary tasks that are inherent to the process: data preparation and cleansing but also written and oral communication of your results.
- Data Science is a vibrant environment that is undergoing growth at the moment.
- Applications out-with the financial services sector are welcome.
Your experience should include:
- Postgraduate level degree in a numerate discipline or demonstrable experience and skills.
- Experience with open source environments: R/RStudio or Python
- Experience developing models, either classic GLMs or more modern Machine learning techniques: Boosted trees, GAM, Deep Learning
- Experience with Time Series, Forecasting and Optimisation techniques would be very welcome.
- A demonstrable willingness to develop and learn
