_**The Grand Hotel has a great opportunity for a full time Linen Porter to join the housekeeping team.**_

**Main Purpose of Job**
As linen porter your main responsibilities are to ensure that we have enough clean linen to see us through the weekly business and also control the distribution of this linen to the necessary areas. The up keep of this linen is also important and constant problems with linen must be reported to the head housekeeper.

**Main Responsibilities**
- To report for duty on time and in the correct uniform.
- To comply with statutory & company regulations relating to health and safety, hygiene, conduct, fire procedures and security.
- To be responsible for the safe keeping of the keys whilst in your possession.
- Stock cupboards with sheets, towels and pillowcases.
- To check in all clean linen ensuring that labels tie into delivery note.
- Sort out and count linen from day before.
- Put clean linen away and ensure it is stored in the correct place.
- Collect dirty linen from each floor. Sort and correctly label bag, repeat throughout the day.
- Add up linen totals at end of day. Copy into linen hire book.
- Take pool towels up to reception as and when required ensuring that there is sufficient to see them through the time you are off duty.
- To launder using in house washing and drying facilities (eg shower curtains and mattress protectors).
- Ensure all corridors are free from beds, cots, iron/ironing boards and rubbish.
- Send off linen rejects if required.
- Clean linen room every day.
- Keep the housekeeping stores cupboard clean and tidy.
- Putting in extra beds or cots when needed.
- Any other job that is required to be done within reason as asked by your Head of Department or the Duty manager.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent, Zero hours contract

**Salary**: £9.50-£10.50 per hour

**Experience**:

- linen porter: 1 year (preferred)
