Our Client has a requirement for a Senior Document Controller, who will be required to work on a contract basis in Preston with some remote working.

**Role Purpose**:
Provide a service to maintain project documentation control across all allocated Projects.

**Job Role Responsibilities**:

- Assist the Document Control and Project Support Team Leader in supervising Document Controller activities, Annual Leave cover, resource planning, training new starters, writing procedures and work instructions.
- Provide Document Control service and advice/management across allocated projects: Register and control/issue all project documentation on the chosen DMS - inc. creation, retention, handover to client, archiving/destruction - whilst complying with Company and statutory requirements.
- Assist with the management and maintenance of Project Document Management System (PDM), electronic or otherwise.
- Comply with Company Document Control procedures in relation to recording, controlling, distributing of project documentation. Ensuring that all records are traceable with full audit trail, including Revision and Version control).
- Ensure that all documentation is checked, approved and correctly signed off by appropriate personnel.
- Carry out periodic internal audits on projects (checking that the format of documentation passing through document control is to project standard and is complete for issue).
- Handle documentation in line with project and document security classifications and restrictions, as stipulated by the Company and Client requirements.
- Assist in the creation of record retention documents in conjunction with the Project Manager.
- Assist with compilation, dissemination and communication of and Lifetime Record Packs (LTRs).
- Carry out regular checks using the Document Register to highlight any due/overdue documents - sending regular reports to responsible project personnel.
- Assist with the development, continually review, and update document control procedures and training materials. Communicate updated procedures to all relevant personnel where appropriate.
- New projects’ DMS set up and mobilisation.
- Where project-specific templates are required, update and maintain document control project and departmental templates.
- Assist with managing the Document Control team in the absence of the Team Leader.
- Be proactive: Manage own timescales and working hours to ensure that the demands/deadlines of the project are met.
- Provide Document Control/Project Support new starters with an overview of the document control system, and the procedures relating to compliance control of records and data. Also assist in populating and issuing Induction Packs to new starters where requested to do so. Photocopying and scanning of documentation.

**Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications**:
Essential
- Strong attention to detail are required.
- Ability to rapidly expedite information in a fast paced project environment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to use own initiative.
- Previous Document Control Experience of 5 years in either Nuclear, Construction / Engineering background.
- Previous use/management of Electronic DMS system(s).
- Understanding of Document Control contractual requirements, Document Security and Legal Admissibility on projects.
- Analysis and Tracking of Data, reporting.
- Ability to promote Document Control and Compliance.
- Organisational and time management skills.
- Interpersonal, communication and time management skills.

Desirable
- Knowledge of Microsoft File Manager, SharePoint, and Esiora/Conisio
- Knowledge of British Standards (ISO) in Document Control.
