The Education and Social Care department are looking for a confident and goal oriented team player to join them as an **Assessor**, supporting students through their educational journey and working towards future employment.

You will undertake assessments in the workplace and in college ensuring that a professional image is portrayed at all times. You will identify those who require extra support and liaise appropriately.

You will support students with a portfolio of evidence (currently using online portfolio Ecordia) and work with course leads across the school of Early Years, Health, and Care to identify, plan, supervise and participate in a range of workshop, enrichment, and employment opportunities.

This is a Term Time role therefore you would be working 35 hours per week, 40 weeks per year.

Responsibilities include:

- To deliver supportive workshops in college preparing students for their work placements.
- To undertake timely assessment of students to the national standards and to record all assessment decisions to meet the awarding body/ professional body requirements in line with the assessment cycle
- Manage a caseload of students to include, setting SMART targets / writing action plans to ensure timely progress and achievement of all required components of the qualification.
- To undertake timely workplace observations, where appropriate and upload all related work activities and progress information onto the online portfolio (currently Ecordia) in a timely manner, ensuring accurate tracking of student progression.
- Communicate effectively with the work placement provider regarding progress and achievements.
- Be responsive in the reporting of students who are falling behind quickly and agree detailed action plans with the student and course leader / work placement employer to provide the require support to promote achievement
- Support the delivery of the main qualification through workshops in college
- Contribute to the Organisation culture and strategic objectives and work collaboratively with colleagues in other Departments

Education & Training
- GCSE 4-9 (A*-c) or nationally recognised level 2 qualification in maths or equivalent (e.g. CSE 1, O Level A-C)
- GCSE 4-9 (A*-c) or nationally recognised level 2 qualification in English or equivalent (e.g. CSE 1, O Level A-CAssessor Award (TDLB / D32 or A1)
- Recent industry experience
- Vocational qualifications up to Level 3

Experience
- Current knowledge and relevant occupational experience in the assessment area
- Proven experience of accurately and timely assessing in the workplace/classroom
- Capable of working with students with a wide range of abilities
- Ability to engage and motivate students.
- Experience of working within a customer focused environment
- Able to drive and have use of own vehicle (mileage expenses will be paid additional to the salary)
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent IT skills and ability to use Microsoft Office
