**How you'll make a difference**
As a Housing Assistant you will be assisting households into temporary and longer term accommodation contributing to the Councils statutory duty to provide safe emergency accommodation and relieve homelessness.
**What will you be doing?**:

- You will be responsible for identifying and assessing suitability of offered accommodation for households.
- You will lead the sign-up processes and ensure documents are accurate.
- You will be required to maintain accurate electronic records for all households and placements within emergency accommodation and private sector access schemes.
- You will establish good, professional relationships with housing benefits, households, partner agencies and external providers.
- You will assist with rent collection and maintaining budgets/financial information.

**What we need from you**:

- You will have an NVQ 3 qualification or equivalent in housing and support environment experience.
- You should have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- It is essential that you to have relevant practical experience in Administration and that you enjoy problem solving and providing high level customer service.
- You will have an ability to confidently use IT systems, databases, Microsoft office packages. As well as, experience demonstrating basic numeracy skills.
- You will have general knowledge of the relevant Housing legislation.

Please note that due to the nature of this role it is a requirement of employment that an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is obtained for this post.
