**Job Purpose**:
To support and contribute to the playout operation through the production of graphics, in accordance with business requirements.

The Graphics Assistant will be competent in the services provided to the Client and design the desired graphics, assist in the development of appropriate processes and touch points to support the services.

The Graphics Assistant may work with Channel Management (from the client side) and from the RBM side, the Graphics Manager, as well as creative and production teams, technical and engineering teams to respond to editorial changes and technical and operational issues where necessary.

The Graphics Assistant also ensures that graphics produced in-house meet the client marketing plan as well as OFCOM requirements.

**Key Accountabilities**:
**Operational**:

- Deliver an excellent level of service.
- Design and deliver graphics services, which are equal to or exceed contracted agreements with clients, e.g. accuracy, availability, response and turn-around times.
- Where relevant and appropriate ensure the client’s brand values and commercial objectives are fully understood and actively represented across the operation and harmonised with RBM’s brand values.
- Tracking and identification of graphics issues and associated escalation and management of resolution, through appropriate support teams
- Pro-actively identify operational issues
- Interface with internal service providers to ensure the best possible standards are received and client needs are foremost including ensuring change is communicated, processes documented and problems are managed through to resolution
- Report time accurately so as to ensure cost control

**Experience**:

- Experience within a broadcast environment
- Recent experience of working directly with a client or managing other diverse stakeholders
- Proven experience in making timely and effective decisions when under pressure and when the outcome can have a major impact on the audience experience and the perception of stakeholders
- Experience of broadcast graphic software (desirable but not essential as training can be given)

**Knowledge**:

- Familiarity with OFCOM guidelines and awareness of SLAs
- Understanding of the limitations of Playout technology to inform discussions balancing risk against editorial priorities
- An understanding of the end-to-end route for delivery of graphics files and relevant metadata to the playout environment

**Skills and Behaviour**:

- A level of interpersonal and communication skills sufficient to enable the post holder to influence senior contacts and to confidently challenge the status quo
- A high level of flexibility, resilience and stamina
- Astute political awareness of organisational sensitivities and the ability to remain confident and assured in circumstances where there are complex issues and conflicts of interest
- A highly analytical approach enabling critical evaluation and problem solving
- Excellent people management and motivational skills
- Ability to embrace change and encourage innovation amongst others
- An organised approach that ensures a range of strategies are developed to handle any schedule reactivity and enables the clear communication of the options to both client and operational teams
- A proactive approach that ensures clear and timely communication and effective action to ensure the Playout operation is as efficient and effective as possible
- Enthusiasm for presentation graphics and the use of new technology
- Attention to detail and a good eye for design and typography
