Here at P&O Ferries we are looking to recruit a Crewing Officer to support the Crewing Manager here at our offices based in Dover.

This is an important role as the Crewing Officer assists with the crewing levels of staff on all our vessels and ensures that all statutory and business requirements are met to operate the P&O fleet safely.

As a Crewing Officer a key skill will be communication as you will regularly liaise with external agencies on a daily basis as well as internal stakeholders. Ideally you will have a background within shipping or similar industry experience and understandsthe crewing model, such as airlines etc

**Location: Dover based with some flexibility, we work in a hybrid pattern with 3 days per week in the office and 2 from home, however the first few months of this role would require daily office attendance to learn the role**

**Your focus**:

- Ensuring crewing system is maintained and accurate details are held including certifications and rotation dates
- Recording and processing of invoices to monitor the crewing costs
- Communicate with Manning agents when crew are required
- Highlight and follow up on vacancies that are needed across all vessels
- Assist the crewing manager, ensure that planning is visible to vessels and management

**About you**:

- Highly organised and able to work under own initiative
- Computer literate
- Able to work in a busy and pressurized environment
- Ideally you will have ship experience or a background in shipping
- Desirable (not essential) conversant with legal requirements such as the Maritime Labour Convention.
