**Complex Home Care Assistant - Scope to develop Complex Skills**

**Care Assistant £10.65-£12.96 plus mileage & holiday pay**

We are looking for a care assistant in the HESS BANK area of Morecambe. Experience is an advantage but not essential as full training will be provided. We PAY for training.

Ben is 34 years old and following a medical episode was left with severe physical disabilities. Following this he receives intensive therapies from a wide range of Professionals to support his Rehabilitation. Ben has full Mental Capacity and makes his own decisions.

Ben has received support from Prestige Nursing for the last year, from a diverse workforce who enjoy their roles working with him.

Ben has a great sense of humour and sense of fun, he has determination to regain his skills and takes everything in his stride. Ben lives in the Morecambe area in his own house which meets his needs, he often uses an electronic voice on his iPad, however as people get to know him they understand his speech more. Ben is going to adopt a dog in coming weeks

A typical shift with Ben consists of:

- Supporting him to prepare for the day/night ahead, with his personal care routine and exercises.
- Meals and medications.
- Attending appointments i.e. Hydrotherapy, Oxygen Therapy, medical appointments.
- Accessing the local community to visit shops and run errands.
- Supporting his family time with his young son
- Social activities i.e. Cinema, Holidays, meals out
- Ben needs 2 additional members on his Care Team and we are recruiting Support Workers, drivers preferred but not essential. These are 36 hours per week and alternate weekends. Subject to a free Enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.

**Are you new to working within care and have a passion to help and support people, whilst also expanding your own knowledge?**

**Are you currently working within care and would like to develop your skills and move towards complex care?**

**Your role will include**:

- Prompting and administering medication
- Helping with the preparation of meals and drinks
- Assisting with activities of daily living such domestic duties and personal care
- Maintaining and updating reports such as care plans
- Undertaking training for Complex Care Interventions - this could lead to further training to support individuals who require Suctioning, Ventilation and PEG

**Being employed as a Carer by us means**:

- Support from named Branch Nurse for Complex Interventions such as Rectal Medications, Bladder Wash Outs and Epilepsy Rescue Medications
- Consistent clients with scheduled visits
- Comprehensive Care and Support Plans written closely with the service users and their families

- 24/7 support from the branch team including an Out Of Hours telephone service
