GSSArchitecture, one of the longest established architectural Practices in the country, is looking to appoint an enthusiastic, confident, well-organised and committed Bid Writer to join our team and assist in the continued growth and profitably of the Practice of 8 Partners, 70+ staff, and six national offices. The team and practice have been accredited to the Investors in People (IIP) Gold standard, rated as the second-highest scoring architecture practice on the IIP international database. **Role & Responsibilities (this list is not exhaustive)**:

- **Bid Preparation**: Lead the preparation and submission of bids and proposals for architecture projects, ensuring alignment with client bid requirements, GSS values and standards, and industry standards.
- **Content Development**: Collaborate with GSS team members and external consultants as required to gather relevant information and develop compelling bid content, including quality responses, delivery methodologies, pricing structures, and compliance documentation.
- **Bid Team Engagement**: Coordinate with project leads, designers, and other team members to gather input and insights for bid development, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing across departments.
- **Clear Communication**: Ensure the writing structure and words used in the proposal persuasively conveys our knowledge, skills and experience to the client whilst understanding and including customer-focused sales messages and sharing this with the bid team.
- **Quality Assurance**: Conduct thorough reviews and edits of bid documents to ensure accuracy, clarity, and compliance with tender requirements and GSS standards.
- **Deadline Management**: Manage a varied workload with multiple conflicting deadlines effectively, prioritising tasks and resources to meet submission deadlines and maximise win rates.
- **Continuous Improvement**:Proactively identify areas for process improvement and efficiency gains in bid management and document production processes, contributing to the ongoing refinement of bid strategies and best practices.

- Experienced in bid writing, ideally within the construction industry.
- Professional and organised approach with strong time management skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Innovative/creative approach to document building and presentation.
- Excellent written, interpersonal and verbal communication.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines.
- Timekeeping and attendance must be to a very high standard.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Architecture, Construction and Built Environment, Project Management) or equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience in bid writing, preferably within the construction or architecture sectors.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and persuasively.
- Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to gather, analyse, and synthesise data from multiple sources.
- Detail-oriented approach to document review and editing, with a focus on accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with construction industry standards, regulations, and best practice.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in bid management, architecture, construction, and related fields.
- Experience of Adobe InDesign preferable, but not essential.
