**PURPOSE STATEMENT**:

- Delivery of a practical, proactive hands-on maintenance service, focusing on basic building repairs, handyperson tasks and grounds maintenance.

**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/OUTCOMES**:

- Carry out basic planned preventative and reactive maintenance and repairs.
- Complete general handyperson tasks as required.
- Conduct grounds maintenance to ensure the site is always presentable.
- Carry out routine checks and inspections to ensure smooth operation of site whilst maintaining up to date and accurate records, to include responsibility for fire alarm system testing.
- Carry out daily service checks and basic maintenance tasks on the trade effluent plant, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems and tasks relevant to legionella risk assessment and policy requirements.
- Carry out building and equipment inspections and identify areas that may require specialist maintenance or repair.
- Identify and anticipate potential safety hazards and be prepared to report findings and undertake any emergency actions required.
- Assist with safety and security on site to ensure compliance with all relevant procedural, regulatory and legislation requirements.
- Assist with emergency procedures such as an ammonia leak evacuation and fire marshal duties.
- Operate and maintain specialist equipment required for grounds maintenance and general repairs applicable to the role.
- Be the point of contact for contractors visiting site, whilst completing site inductions and permits to work.
- Availability to attend site outside of normal working hours in the event of a fire alarm activation, an emergency or on occasions when essential tasks are scheduled.
- Any other duties as reasonably required.

You must comply with Rich Products Health and Safety policies and procedures at all times.

**KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE**:
Critical
- Practical skills in general building repairs, maintenance and upkeep
- Demonstrable experience of maintaining and repairing equipment
- Good awareness of health and safety
- Strong problem solving and organisational skills
- Good communication skills
- Able to manage own work effectively

Desirable
- Qualifications and proven competencies in electrical, mechanical or plumbing skills
- Experience and knowledge of effluent plant and the management of legionella
- Experienced and competent in the operation and maintenance of specialist equipment such as lawn mowers, or the willingness to be trained
- Qualified and competent in portable appliance testing (PAT) or the wiliness to be trained
- Food industry knowledge, but not essential
