Temporary Teaching Assistant role within our Year 4 Class
Responsible to: Head Teacher

Hours of Work:
Mon - 09.30-12.30
Tue - 08.45-12.30
Wed - 08.45-12.30
Thu - 08.45-12.30

**Duties**:

- Teaching and Learning:

- Assist in the education and social development of pupils under the direction and guidance of the head teacher, class teacher and SENDCo
- Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Programmes for pupils and help monitor their progress
- Provide support for individual pupils or small groups of pupils inside and outside the classroom to enable them to participate fully in activities
- Work with other professionals, such as speech therapists and occupational therapists, as necessary
- Assist class teachers with maintaining pupil records
- Support pupils with emotional or behavioural problems and help develop their social skills
- Supervise pupils during morning and lunchtime breaks. Staff are guided by the school’s Playtime and Behaviour policies; these should be read in conjunction with other relevant policies as directed by the head teacher
- Administrative Duties:

- Support class teachers in photocopying and other tasks in order to support teaching
- Undertake other duties from time to time as the head teacher requires
- Professional Standards:

- Attend team and staff meetings as required
- Be proactive in matters relating to health and safety
- To contribute to general safeguarding of all pupils
- To be aware of and comply with the School’s Child Protection Policy, Confidentiality Procedures and other School Policies.
- Observe good timekeeping and professional standards of dress and appearance
- To attend courses and INSET as necessary for professional development
