**Quality Assurance Assistant**

Farmlay has been a family-owned quality egg producer since 1946. Based in rural Aberdeenshire, with over 50 staff and due to continued expansion, we have a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to kick start their career in food, or an existing QA / Technical Assistant looking for an opportunity to develop their skill range.

This is an excellent opportunity supported by both internal and external training, to learn all areas of Technical and QHSE. An agricultural background or understanding would be preferred and a keen interest in the food industry and quality assurance would be advantageous.

Job description:
To support all activities related to manufacture of a quality, safe, legal product which meets customer requirements.

Create and maintain own brand and customer branded specifications, product files and QAS’s.

Take responsibility of and contribute to the further development of the computerised Quality Management Systems, HACCP and Good Manufacturing Practices and ensure that current systems are updated, in place and relevant.

Handle any non-conformances including preventative actions, any customer complaints, pest control visits and inspections and corrective actions required.

Check new label artwork and seek the relevant approval from all industry bodies as required.

Complete Internal audits as per audit plan schedule and against the following standards, BRC, BEIC Lion, RSPCA Assured and Organic, Farmers & Growers.

Participate in external and 3rd party audits from the above bodies.

Food Handlers Qualifications, preferred but not essential - Food Hygiene and Food Safety and HACCP trained.

Internal Audit Trained preferred but not essential.

A good knowledge of Microsoft Office

Training will be given to meet the needs of the company, both internally and externally including HACCP, and Food Safety and Food Hygiene qualifications.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

**Salary**: £24,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
