We are looking for a qualified room leader**, with at least a level 3 as a minimum requirement **to join our management team as a room leader. We are looking for a motivated individual that has experience in looking after children, in a nursery setting or similar.

We offer:

**Requirements**:

- A child-led ethos
- A relevant Level 3 Qualification in Childcare and Education (minimum)
- Two years of nursery completed (minimum)
- EYFS experience
- Sound understanding of child development and of children’s needs
- Ability to work with parents and to encourage their involvement
- Ability to lead a team of adults
- Commitment to equal opportunities and understanding of religious and cultural diversity

**The position of Room Leader involves**:

- Managing the safe and effective day to day running of the room
- Keeping up to date with developments, current practice and legislation in the Early Years sector
- Managing an effective Key Person system that fully supports the individual needs of all children and families
- Being responsible for creating an environment where children and team are happy, secure and relaxed
- Supporting and challenging your team to help each child maximise their potential
- Implement policies and procedures to ensure the Practice Guidance and Statutory Framework of the Early Years Foundation Stage are met.
- Planning of appropriate experiences for children, in line with the nursery policy on the curriculum, to meet the learning and development requirements of the EYFS statutory framework and Every Child Matters agenda.
- Participate in policy on planning, assessment, recording and reporting, in line with the requirements of the EYFS statutory framework.
- Take shared responsibility for standards of safety, security, hygiene, cleanliness and tidiness throughout the nursery rooms.
- Provide effective liaison with parents on a day-to-day basis regarding the welfare, learning and development of the children in the nursery.
- Comply with policies and procedures at all times.
- To ensure the Setting is a high quality environment, meeting the needs of individual children from differing cultures and religious backgrounds, and stages of development.
- To actively promote and support the **safeguarding** of children and young people in the workplace, ensuring setting policies and procedures are observed at all times.
- To ensure that the needs of the child are met at all times, which may include cooking, cleaning and changing nappies.

**This role is full-time**.

**We are also conveniently located 5 min walk from Surbiton train station with direct links to Clapham Junction and London Waterloo, also with a variety of different bus links. We will complete a DBS Criminal Record Disclosure check and offer safeguarding and first aid training (if you have not already completed these).**

**Salary**: £27,000.00-£29,000.00 per year
