Liverpool Women’s NHS Foundation Trust is committed to ensuring that parents and families are at the centre of safe and personalised maternity care. To support this, it is important to have an active Maternity Voices Partnership (MVP), which represents and supports those using maternity services.

The main purpose of the role of Vice Chair is to support the Chair, assisting with the strategic development of the Maternity Voices Partnership, sharing responsibility for networking and taking on discrete pieces of work, when needed.

An MVP is an NHS service user led working group that works in partnership to ensure maternity care is as good as it can be. We are looking for an individual who is compassionate and driven to advocate for women and be a voice and conduit to the improvement and advancement of maternity services.

MVPs should ensure the voices of those using maternity services are heard and involved in reviewing services and improvements. Membership should include Maternity care service-users, Maternity care providers (Midwives, Obstetricians, ante-natal, Neonatologists), Commissioners, Health Visitors, Infant feeding specialists. The MVP Vice Chair will support the Chair in acting as an advocate for mothers who use local maternity services.

Under the umbrella of Cheshire and Merseyside Women’s Health and Maternity Partnerships the Local Maternity System is hosted by Liverpool Women's Hospital.
