**Apprenticeship Summary**:

- Working Week: The post holder will be required to work 31.5 hours per week
- Term-time only, 38 weeks per year.
- Qualification: Level 3 Teaching Assistant (16 months duration).
- LMP Education training provider (Rated 3rd Best provider across the UK)
- All learning delivered online / remote via LMP allocated tutor, alongside the job.
- Wage: Apprentice minimum wage: £5.28 ph
- Achieved GCSE Maths and English grade C/4 or above or equivalent (required).

**Main Job responsibilities**:

- Help with the care and support of students, both individual and groups.
- Supervise the activities of individuals or groups of children to ensure their safety (including duties).
- Contribute to the personal and emotional care, health, hygiene and welfare of students.
- Supporting disabled students with personal/social needs.
- Encourage students to act independently as appropriate.
- Encourage students to interact with others and engage in activities led by a teacher.
- Support students to understand instructions.
- Support students in using basic ICT as directed.
- Escort and assist students around the school site.
- Basic general support to students in line with a statement of special needs or planned provision.
- Listening to and assisting children to read.
- Routine support for students with literacy and numeracy skills.

Support for teacher and pupils:

- Prepare resources for lessons and activities as directed.
- Report behaviour difficulties appropriately and support the teacher in basic management of student behaviour.
- Assist with supervision of students out of school times including before and after school and lunchtimes.
- Accompany staff and students on visits and trips as required and take responsibility for a group under the supervision of a teacher.
- Gather information from parents/carers as directed.
- Maintain basic records in accordance with school policy.
- Provide general clerical support, e.g. photocopying, collecting money.
- Routine support for students to access the curriculum.
- Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, equal opportunities, health and safety, security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to the appropriate person.
- Contribute to the overall ethos/work/aims of the school.
- Participate in training, other learning activities and performance development as required.
