Ty Hafan is recruiting for a Retail Van Driver / Handyperson.

We have a fantastic opportunity for a hardworking, enthusiastic and friendly Retail Van Driver/Handyperson to join our team, working 37.5 hours (5 days) per week. Start times and daily hours will vary, with at least two 7.30am starts.

**About the role**

Our Retail Driver/Handyperson works as part of the Shop Support Team, supporting our Charity shops to achieve sustainable growth of contribution year on year.

This role is fundamental to our Retail operation with the Driver/Handyperson being responsible for the route planning and efficient collection and distribution of stock to our shops and for planning in proactive maintenance tasks, mainly decorating, and basic reactive maintenance tasks. The job is all about providing a high level of support and service to our shop colleagues & supporters, contributing to the smooth running of our Retail operation.

The Retail Driver/Handyperson is also responsible for ensuring the vans are kept clean & roadworthy. Although part of the Shop Support Team, this is primarily a lone working role requiring the ability to use own initiative, maintain regular contact with line manager and to work effectively unsupervised. The post holder will be required to collect and return the van to our Head Office each working day.

**About you**

We’re looking for someone who is reliable, conscientious, can follow procedures and has proven experience of driving professionally and of transporting, loading and unloading high volumes of stock.

You will use your experience of DIY and general basic maintenance skills to maintain and improve the upkeep of our shops. Tasks can range from basic carpentry e.g. putting up shelves, to basic plumbing e.g. repair leaky taps, to basic electrical tasks e.g. replacing bulbs, as well as painting & decorating.
