Job Responsibilities

**Cost Estimation**: Preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates for variations to on-going construction contracts and new small projects based on client requirements, design drawings, project specifications, materials, labour and plant requirements.

**Quantity Take offs**: Conduct quantity take offs from architectural and engineering drawings to determine the quantities of materials needed for a work.

**Tender Work**: Contribute to the preparation of tender bid proposals by compiling comprehensive cost breakdowns, mark ups, cost schedules and ensuring alignment with project objectives.

**Estimating support to project teams**: Work closely with our Project and Site Managers, Designers, Quantity Surveyor and other team members to understand project requirements and provide on-going estimating support for project variations and forecasting cost of changes.

What is needed

**Essentials**
- Excellent mathematical and logical skills
- Solid working knowledge in Excel including basic data analysis methods and using other computing and communication software
- Strong self-management and time management skills with ability to deliver work within agreed deadlines
- Excellent communication skills to convey complex information clearly and concisely in different settings
- Confidence in performing measurements from design drawings, calculations and cost estimations
- Be collaborative and able to build strong relationships with colleagues and clients

**Desirables**
- Background or qualification in construction or engineering roles
- Experience in reviewing specifications, architectural drawings and other relevant documents
- Knowledge of construction methods and materials
- Experience in preparing and presenting estimates and bids
- Ability to use specialised software to produce accurate and efficient estimates

- Starting salary between £25,000-£30,000 depending on initial skill set
- Working in team with other two experienced senior estimators from our modern friendly office in Colindale, Nort-West London.
