**Job Title: Sustainability BREEAM Assessor**

**J Squared Solutions are looking for a Sustainability BREEAM Assessor to join our esteemed client in this permanent position.**

**Reports To: Head of Design**

**Position Overview**: The Sustainability BREEAM Assessor plays a pivotal role within the design team, championing sustainability initiatives, driving projects, fostering strong client relationships, and ensuring comprehensive management of BREEAM processes. This position collaborates closely with colleagues from diverse disciplines, delivering top-tier BREEAM and sustainability support across various sectors.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Conduct BREEAM assessments and provide comprehensive reports.
- Manage BREEAM assessments throughout the project life cycle, from feasibility to completion, and oversee multiple projects within budget and timelines.
- Act as a Sustainability consultant and BREEAM AP, collaborating professionally with clients, design teams, and contractors to achieve key sustainability objectives, specifically BREEAM.
- Deliver high-quality consultancy support, offering clear and actionable guidance to maximize project potential.
- Provide technical sustainability expertise across various areas, including sustainability strategies, renewable feasibility studies, building performance, and whole-life carbon assessments.
- Assist in the implementation of sustainability strategies, which may involve Sustainability Benchmarks, sustainability statements, and cost-effective BREEAM compliance solutions.
- Collaborate to develop compelling sustainability-focused presentations, contributing to the advancement of the built environment sector.
- Interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders, fostering relationships at all levels.
- Demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional development by staying updated with technical journals and attending relevant seminars to enhance technical knowledge.

**Management**:

- Monitor workload and report to the line manager regarding deliverables.
- Utilize strong oral and written communication skills, particularly in report writing, ensuring clear communication both internally and externally.
- Ensure adherence to Quality Assurance procedures.
- Maintain and enhance existing relationships with project stakeholders.
- Take ownership of client-facing consultancy services, collecting technical and operational information relevant to projects.
- Keep project documentation up-to-date and comply with file management protocols.
- Provide mentorship and training to junior team members.

**Health & Safety**:

- Demonstrate understanding of CDM Regulations, particularly the Designer's requirements.
- Report accidents/incidents or near misses promptly.
- Adhere to all Health & Safety requirements consistently.
- Use and maintain appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

**Qualifications/Skills**:

- Accreditation as a qualified BREEAM Assessor or working towards relevant qualifications.
- Ideally possess a relevant BSc or MSc (or equivalent) in environmental or construction discipline, or actively working towards it.
- Proven experience in conducting building environmental assessments and certifications such as BREEAM.
- Proficiency in building performance and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) tools.
- Knowledge of thermal modeling, building physics studies, including daylight studies, thermal comfort, and overheating studies.
- Experienced in leading workshops and client meetings confidently.
- Demonstrated track record in client relationship management and project management in a consulting environment.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £40,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
