We're thrilled to say that our team is growing and we're now on the lookout for fantastic nursery practitioner to join the team.

Schedule: Flexible; up to 47.5 hours per week.

Holiday: 5.6 weeks per year

MAIN DUTIES

A nursery practitioner’s primary role is to engage with the children in the nursery, fostering their development through educational activities and interactive contact throughout the day. Here is a list of some of the core responsibilities:

- Plan, organize and execute a wide variety of activities for the children that are suitable to their individual stages of development.
- Ensure that child records are accurate, well-written and up to date such reports, observations, accident/incident forms etc.
- Build relationships with children and strong partnerships with the parents.
- Ensure the provision of a high-quality and inclusive environment to meet the needs of individual children.
- Ensure the maintenance of adequate standards of cleanliness and hygiene for the children attending the nursery. This includes changing nappies and toilet training.
- Assist with serving and washing up the children’s lunches and snacks.
- Ensure safeguarding procedures are always followed and follow relevant guidance set out in statutory safeguarding guidelines, including ‘Working Together to Safeguard Children,’ ‘Prevent duty guidance for England and Wales’ and ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education.’
- Understand that safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is everyone’s responsibility and act accordingly.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- A Level 3 qualification recognized by the DfE for counting in the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework staff: child ratios.

KNOWLEDGE BASE
- A strong understanding of how children develop.
- A clear understanding of the ways children learn.
- A strong understanding of safeguarding principles.
- A good knowledge of the EYFS.

REPORTING

Reports to the nursery manager, or in their absence the deputy manager or most senior practitioner on site
