**Exams and accreditation officer**

We’re looking for a part-time exams and accreditation officer to ensure that our exam and certification processes for staff and student learners are robust and well-maintained.

Attention to detail is critical in this role as other people’s qualifications will be in your hands. It will be your job to ensure that the administration and organisation of all examinations at National Star run smoothly.

You will be responsible for recording and maintaining records of the receipt of confidential exam material and for ensuring that all qualifications are registered correctly. It will be up to you to also see that payments are made for exams and certification.

Liaising with managers, you will work to strict deadlines to prepare records and other information needed to meet internal and external validation processes.

You will be a key point of contact with exam boards on behalf of National Star, using your communication skills to build strong working relationships.

Many of our students may require special provisions in exams and you’ll be responsible for ensuring that appropriate arrangements are made.

By the nature of the role you will be working independently, with support, for a large majority of your working week. However, you will be part of the larger, friendly learning programmes administration team, who will help you settle in and show you the ropes.

There is an element of flexibility in terms of working hours in this role. However, by the very nature of the job you should expect to be particularly busy in the spring and summer terms.

National Star students are rightly proud of the qualifications they obtain when learning with us, especially as many have had to overcome significant barriers to achieve their aspirations. Your role will be instrumental in supporting this.

**About us**

National Star is a growing charity with more than 1,200 staff based in England and Wales. Established more than 50 years ago, we’ve supported hundreds of young people with disabilities to achieve their potential.

**How we will reward you**

The full time equivalent salary for this role is £22,000 - as we are looking for someone to join us on part time (24 hours a week) - term time plus 3 weeks, the actual salary will be £12,915 spread in 12 equal payments over the year.

**Our Golden Hello**

It’s motivating to feel valued at work. That’s why all new staff will receive a ‘Golden Hello’ up to the value of £250 for full-time staff (pro-rata for part-time employees) upon successful completion of their probation.

**Staff benefits**

Fantastic career development opportunities and comprehensive induction programme - theory and practical

Award-winning training

Use of fitness suite and swimming pool and staff clubs.

Westfield medical cover

Life insurance cover

Employee helpline

Contributory pension scheme

Opportunity to purchase a TOTUM discount card

Employee discounts at attractions, high street retailers, supermarkets, utilities and motoring, plus much more

**How to apply**

Please note that all applicants will be expected to undertake a DBS Disclosure, and undergo the necessary employer checks. The level of disclosure to be applied for will be dependent on your job role and will be discussed with you during the recruitment process but is usually an enhanced level. Where appropriate, the adult and child barred lists will be checked and we will not employ anyone who appears on either of those registers.
