Job Purpose:
The buyer is responsible for all commercial matters relating to the supply of parts into the central warehouse at Wolverton Mill including but not limited to part price, order placement, ATB negotiations, new model sourcing and part resourcing

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

- Manage supplier performance ensuring that Quality, Cost and Delivery performance is maintained at high levels in line with business requirements
- Ensure Product availability as per business requirements - meeting first time availability objectives of 97%
- Working closely with key departments including production purchasing to confirm initial aftermarket price and secure initial infill for product launch and to negotiate T&C’s when relating to service at point of sourcing
- Conducts re-sourcing exercises whilst maintaining continuity of supply to meet requirements in the event of non-acceptable price, service, or quality performance
- Certifies invoices and clears price queries in a timely manner as occasion demands
- Achieving cost down objectives based on a percentage of your annual spend
- Takes ownership of all commercial matters relating to part requirements for Wolverton Mill
- Negotiations to avoid ATB requirements
- Negotiation of ATB if required (last resort)
- Negotiation and validation of price increases
- Inventory targets
- Working closely with analysts as a point of escalation for supplier failures and to be responsible for overall recover of performance
- Ensure back orders are resolved quickly and sales teams are provided with daily updates for resolution, meeting back order volume objectives

Qualification & Experience:

- 3 years’ experience within a purchasing function
- Ability to generate own reports and metrics including the use of macros and other advances functions within MS Excel and Access
- Sound analytical ability to be able to understand and analyse large quantities of complex data, and be able to present data and findings to audiences at all levels
- Working understanding of logistics and global distribution
- Ability to communicate at all levels both internally and externally and with all departments
- Team player, ability to integrate and lead problem solving initiatives
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
