Rugeley School is recruiting for a Bank Catering Assistant to join their Catering team We are looking for passionate people, who can support the provision of the catering operation assisting with basic food preparation and hygiene and who can promote healthy eating and contribute to the wellbeing of our Children and Young People. In this role, you will under direction, take responsibly for parts of the catering operation, ensure the kitchen and associated areas meet operational hygiene standards and comply with the Company's Assured Safe Catering Policies and Procedures and assist the Chef with both the preparation and cooking of meals in accordance with these.

Rugeley School caters for pupils with autism and associated learning difficulties, aged from 5 - 19.

Duties will include:

- Assisting the cooks with daily preparation of food
- Washing up/cleaning of dining area in line with COSHH guidelines
- Keep kitchen area tidy
- Re-stocking of cupboards
- Putting away food deliveries

Previous experience preparing and cooking meals gained within a professional kitchen environment along with the following characteristics:
**Communication** - Communicating with our young people is vital to understand their needs. Good teamwork and communication plays a key part in ensuring important information is relayed to other staff.

**Organisation** -You will need to be confident and organised in updating menus, dietary requirements and reporting information that will be relevant to the care of our young people.

**Attentive** - No young person is the same so being attentive to understand them and identify areas where we can support is important.
