Westminster, United Kingdom City of Westminster Council Full time

**About Us**:
**THE EXTRAORDINARY STORY OF SHOFA’S MARKET**

Children’s Services in Westminster City Council is a world of extraordinary stories. Where courageous and inspiring professionals bring everything to their work.

Sometimes this even includes heartbreak. Shofa is a shining example. Shofa’s brother suffered with his mental health and died tragically young. She uses his memory as motivation to give Westminster Youth Council members the opportunity to have a voice and get involved in decision-making. This passion resulted in her innovation: The Westminster Youth Market. Here local teenagers learn about entrepreneurship and develop their personal skills. This is an inclusive platform where everyone’s contribution and abilities are celebrated. Inspired by a promising life cut short, Shofa believes without vision there is no direction and every young person should be supported to realise their dreams.

**The Role**:
As a Systemic Family Therapist or Clinical Psychologist with Westminster Children’s Services, you can make your own powerful contribution to transforming the lives of children, young people and their families. Working within the clinical team alongside practitioners and managers in children services, you will focus either on families in our North-West social work area.

You can expect to work creatively with families in their homes and other community settings, as well as in family therapy clinics. You’ll often engage with them at points of crisis, helping them work together to create change and build on family strengths to improve outcomes for children and young people. In addition to providing assessment and direct therapeutic interventions, you will also offer colleagues specialist consultation on complex cases, contribute to teaching and coaching within Westminster and other local authorities, and facilitate reflective practice groups. A vital part of our innovative in-house parenting assessment service, you will provide assessments and intervention in care proceedings, and jointly write reports for courts.

Please refer to the **Job Description** for more information.

**About You**:
The work demands a creative and flexible approach, as well as extensive training in systemic approaches. Registered with UKCP, HCPC or another recognised professional body, you will be confident in your approach and will have proven your ability to work effectively with children, families and professional networks on cases where children are in need, at risk of harm or who may be looked after. You’ll be used to working with vulnerable groups and within diverse communities.

Committed to equality and diversity, you’ll also be resilient and approach the role with an unquestionable code of ethics, integrity, diversity and trust.
