Manchester, United Kingdom Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust Full time

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Research & Innovation Department working for The Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust, across all Care Organisations. Our research activity has expanded considerably over recent years, currently supporting over 700 research studies across a range of clinical specialties, including both commercial and non-commercial work.

You will, in conjunction with the Research and Innovation Coordinators, be responsible for ensuring that the Research Management Team is properly administered and organised, allowing a supportive service to be provided to internal and external stakeholders. The post holder will also facilitate the delivery of UK Policy Framework for Health and Social Care Research and provide advice on best practice. In addition, the post holder will assist the R&I Department in the development and refinement of R&I administrative procedures, to support research initiation and delivery. You will have experience of clinical research in an NHS acute setting (or similar). If you are an effective communicator who can work well both independently and within a multidisciplinary team, and can demonstrate excellent attention to detail, we would love to hear from you. You will need a flexible working approach and the ability to travel across sites.

The Northern Care Alliance (NCA) is one of the largest NHS organisations in the country. Launched in April 2017, the NCA serves over one million people across Greater Manchester and employs over 19,000 healthcare professionals across Bury, Rochdale, Salford and Oldham. The sheer size, scale and potential of our combined service is huge. At the NCA, we can offer groupwide, flexible multi-site opportunities, as part of our connected, integrated and engaged team. We believe in saving and improving lives and are passionate about driving forward significant improvements to the provision of safe, high-quality integrated health and social care to our local community. If you share our vision, take your place with us.

The post is key to ensuring that the Trust complies with the standards set out in the UK Policy Framework for Health and Social Care Research and the Medicines for Human Use (Clinical Trials) regulations. The post holder, in conjunction with the R&I Manager, Deputy R&I Managers and R&I Coordinators will be responsible for ensuring that the Research Management Team is properly administered and organise the R&I Office, ensuring that a supportive service is provided to internal and external investigators. The post holder will also facilitate the delivery of the Trust’s Research Governance standards and providing training and advice on best practice. In addition, the post holder will assist the R&I Department in the development and refinement of the R&I administrative procedures throughout the Trust, to support research initiation and delivery (including R&I governance).
