Yorkshire Sculpture Park (YSP) is the leading international centre for modern and contemporary sculpture. Welcoming 380,000 visits in 2022, YSP is an independent charitable trust and registered museum situated in the 500-acre, 18th-century Bretton Hall estate in West Yorkshire

YSP mounts a year-round temporary exhibitions programme including some of the world’s leading artists across six indoor galleries and the open air. Across its 45-year history, YSP has worked with over 1,000 artists from more than 40 countries, on varied projects from short-term residencies to major surveys. Over this time, YSP has sought to ignite, nurture and sustain interest in and debate around contemporary art and sculpture, especially with those for whom art participation is not habitual or familiar.

In addition to income from ticketed visitors, income is generated through our catering, hospitality and retail outlets with additional funding from Arts Council England (ACE), numerous patrons, Trusts and Foundations.

Following the retirement of the current Head of Finance, YSP is looking to recruit an experienced finance professional to work closely with the newly appointed Deputy Director to lead and develop the finance function at YSP. This is a key role working with the senior leadership team and trustees to provide expert advice and assistance to manage the £7m annual budget.

You will have a broad range of financial skills, ideally in the not-for-profit sector, and will work closely with colleagues across YSP to help grow the financial support and services provided to them. One initial focus will be on producing timely management reports. You will look to maximise the use of existing IT systems or introduce new systems to ensure that efficient financial operations are in place.

Working with the Deputy Director, who has overall responsibility for all business operations at YSP, you will support the development of financial strategies to help grow income and manage costs. There will be the opportunity to work with Trustees and the two finance committees to identify and support new opportunities for business development.
