**6 month contract position - Monday - Friday 7.00am - 5.30pm which may lead to further work.**

The company is a UK leading organisation specialising in major mechanical and electrical installations within the food processing industry. The huge range of work carried out by the company includes process pipework and plant installations, planned and preventive maintenance, environmental services and many other engineering services associated with the food and beverage industry. This is a fantastic opportunity for a MIG Welder with a recent BS9606-1 coding to join the mechanical engineering division, supporting a major fabrication and welding project at the companies workshop in Rushden, NN10 6FD.

**Duties**

As a suitably qualified and BS9606-1 coded welder with MIG and MAG experience you will be working within a modern, well equipped and well ventilated workshop in Rushden. Primary responsibilities will be to fabricate then butt and fillet weld structural and platform steel work in accordance with BS EN1090. Generally working with 5mm to 15mm plate, you will be required to fabricate from drawings provided, structural steel work, secondary steel work and platforms which will then be used in the construction of a new build food manufacturing facility. Due to the heavy gauge nature of the materials used you will be using plasma cutters, grinders, drills and the MIG and MAG process to make multi-run, multi positional welds.

**About You**

Based ideally in Rushden you will need to live within a commutable distance of NN10 6FD.

Demonstrable experience of fabricating from heavy gauge plate and MIG/MAG welding within an industrial or agricultural environment is essential for this position.

Ideally, coded to BS 9606-1, fillet or butt weld 5mm to 15mm plate with the MIG/MAG process within the last 3 years you will have been previously coded to this standard.
