Counter Assistant

Covers are the Souths leading family owned Timber and Builders Merchants with 15 Branches in Sussex, Hampshire, Surrey and Kent.

We are currently recruiting for Counter Assistant to join our team at our Burgess Hill Depot.

Based on the Sales Counter, you will become an integral part of a busy branch dealing with sales enquiries. You will be advising customers on our vast range of products, negotiating prices and building relationships with customers.

You will represent the branch and assist with the growth of the business, working as a team to exceed sales targets. You will ensure that the needs of the customers are dealt with quickly and efficiently whilst providing a service that ensures that customers return on a regular basis.

You will also be required to assist with other duties within the branch including restocking the shop, stock control and assisting in the yard, so previous forklift experience is advantageous

You must be sales driven, have excellent customer service skills together and the ability to work well within a team. Previous experience on a trade counter / and or knowledge of building materials is desirable however full training will be given.

Hours of work are Monday to Friday from 07.00am to 17.00pm with a one hour break for lunch.
