A newly created role within the IT department, the Business Analyst will be responsible for the requirements definition and analysis of new business initiatives. This key role will help define and shape new business solutions based on business requirements as part of our business transformation for the benefit of our customers. You'll be a key player within our IT department working collaboratively cross-functionally within the business as well as external agencies.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Review current ways of working across the business and understand the implementation of existing solutions.
- Understand business needs and define business requirements for new business solutions related to potential change or business transformation, fully understanding how these will fit within the overall systems architecture, ensuring that the solutions meet the business needs.
- Undertake stakeholder analysis by engaging with a wide range of business stakeholders to obtain and capture business system requirements (both functional and non-functional) ensuring that the business problem or opportunity is clearly defined, using multiple techniques including (but not limited to) engaging workshops, interviews, observation.
- Document requirements in the form of user stories and functional specifications for new business systems and processes ensuring that business requirements are well structured and clearly defined with supporting evidence including process flows and data models, with valid and complete acceptance criteria.
- As appropriate, actively contribute to establishing the business case linked to system changes and gaining commitment to the change.
- Effectively play-back business requirements to stakeholders ensuring that they are fully understood, including, as appropriate the best method for introducing your recommendations and gain senior management agreement. Effectively communicate the benefits of your recommendations across departments, addressing any uncertainty and concern.
- Manage risks and issues associated with business requirements definition, ensuring that the overall solution remains fit for purpose.
- Fully understand technical solutions, validate work products by the team as part of the deployment of business solutions.
- For each business solution, validate the testing strategy and the test scenarios, ensuring the appropriate level of test coverage is in place.
- Actively support testing activity for solutions to business problems as required which may involve providing test scripts, leading testing activity in conjunction with the Testing team and complete your own testing.
- Lead discussions to clarify and confirm the priority of captured requirements on an ongoing basis, delivering the highest priority item(s).
- Manage and track requirements from discovery through to implementation, identifying any new requirements that change the scope of the overall solution and ensure the appropriate change control processes are followed, including accurate impact assessment.
- Produce and deliver material to train and educate stakeholders to ensure they can operate and fully utilise system solutions, including (but not limited to) user manuals, demos and working instructions.
- Responsible for a robust process to ensure evaluation of business system changes against pre-agreed business benefits.
- Support business transition and help to establish change.
- Act as a point of contact internally and for third parties to provide clarification and support, as necessary.
- Collaborate with key system users, stakeholders, and project team(s).
- You will be required to work across multiple system enhancements and projects, concurrently. In conjunction with your line manager, reprioritise your work and testing schedules in accordance with business priorities.
- While the responsibilities are primarily carried out during normal office hours, remote weekend cover is occasionally required for ad-hoc.

- Timely creation of robust requirements for business system changes that meet the needs of the business
- Work collaboratively for the timely implementation of agreed business system changes, including associated training materials.
- Ensure evaluation of business system changes for the realisation against business benefits

**Nice to have skills:

- Good working knowledge of the overall project life cycle, including both Waterfall and Agile methodologies
- In depth knowledge of retail, supply chain, warehousing, finance, product management, eCommerce and ERP systems
