Maintenance Assistant

Cathay Care Home are looking to recruit a Bank Maintenance/Painter/Decorator

Our care home, based in the beautiful countryside of Moray, provides nursing and residential care for up 41 residents. Our Home Manager firmly believes in giving you full autonomy and support to allow you to blossom in your role. You’ll be part of a close-knit care team, who are on a journey of creating excellence in nursing and residential care.

As Maintenance, you will ensure the building and equipment is maintained to a high standard, always keeping our residents and staff safe and comfortable. To ensure everyone is comfortable and protected, you will inspect different equipment and perform any basic repairs or preventative maintenance when required.

Maintenance Worker Contract
- Pay Rate: £12.00
- Hours: Bank
- 5.6 weeks annual leave

Your Main Duties Will Include

Perform minor repairs
Check control panels and electrical wiring to identify issues
Install appliances and equipment
Do garden/yard upkeep by mowing lawn, collecting trash etc.
Conduct maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs
Maintain, service, clean and properly store equipment
Check functionality of safety systems (e.g. fire alarm)
Inspect and repair all damages to building surfaces
Participate in different projects (e.g. renovations)
Report to a facilities or maintenance manager for issues
Ensure adherence to quality standards and health and safety regulations
Must have a Driving Licence as you will be required to drive the Minibus
Occasional evening and weekend work may be required depending on the home’s requirements, and you will be on-call for emergencies.
