At the United Kingdom Health Security Agency (UKHSA) our mission is to provide health security for the nation by protecting from infectious disease and external hazards. We are a trusted source of advice to government and to the public, focusing on reducing inequalities in the way different communities experience and are impacted by infectious disease, environmental hazards, and other threats to health.

Health Protection Operations (HPO) purpose is to make every single person’s life in every community better by protecting health across the UK and the around the globe. The HPO Group delivers operational services that protect people locally, regionally, nationally and at a global level to secure our health protection from infectious disease, environmental, chemical, and radiological threats.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a team of specialists supporting the development of the future testing capabilities and pandemic preparedness. As several project areas need support to ensure UKHSA can be flexible and rapidly reactive to future health and non-health emergencies.

You will also provide support to the deputy director as necessary as they carry out their wider functions.

The following are key to delivery:

- Budget - Support the management of budgets for projects and/or programmes and forecast actual costs against them.
- Resources - Support the Project Management team in the identification, recruitment, development, deployment and reassignment of resources throughout the project lifecycle.
- Risks & Issues - Work with established project processes and standards for managing risks and issues into the central PMO. Provide assurance on the effectiveness of Risk and Issue management arrangements.
- Governance & Assurance - operate within UKHSAs governance framework and where necessary ensure appropriate governance is in place and support its effectiveness.
- Stakeholder Management - Advise the project team on appropriate tools and techniques for managing stakeholder relationships. Provide assurance to the project manager on the effectiveness of stakeholder management arrangements.
- Collaborate with commercial on procurement and contract management, and with finance on budget preparation and financial performance.

**Location**:
This role will be based in Leamington Spa (Rosalind Franklin Laboratory).
UKHSA offers hybrid working for its employees - Any opportunities for informal hybrid working, including whether a hybrid working arrangement is suitable, will be discussed with you prior to you taking up your post. This will be determined primarily by business needs and in line with departmental policies for flexible working.
Some occasional business travel will be required to other UKHSA offices/locations as determined by business needs.
Please be aware that this role can only be worked from within the UK and not overseas. Relocation expenses are not available.
