A varied and challenging role has become available that requires an exceptionally organised, practical and proactive individual to provide professional, administrative and project support to the Director/Chiropractor of our dynamic healthcare facility.

Your administrative skills shouldn’t keep you stuck at a desk hidden in an office. We will get you out from behind the desk and on your feet interacting with patients as part of your exciting new role.

**JOB PURPOSE**

Work alongside the Chiropractor during patient interactions, keeping records and assisting patients with administrative aspects of their visit.

Provide an efficient and comprehensive support service to the Chiropractor, prioritising work to ensure deadlines are met.

Ensure effective communication with patients and colleagues.

Assist in the organisation of the Chiropractor’s workload.

**MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES**

Point of contact for the Director/Chiropractor to manage operations.

Work within a healthcare setting handling confidential and sensitive information, maintaining GDPR compliance.

Act as an assistant to the Chiropractor during patient appointments, taking accurate notes using the electronic healthcare record system (EHR).

Interact with patients during appointments, performing some aspects of the appointment where no clinical training or qualification is required. _Example:_ taking photos for postural analysis or giving an overview of prescribed home care advice.

Use Microsoft Office software to produce clinical correspondence, to include communication to General Practitioners and other health professionals, clinical letters, and notes.

Maintain online patient forms and communication, including updating the practice website and online presence.

Carry out photocopying, scanning, general office duties and the use of EHR (Electronic Healthcare Record System) when necessary.

Maintain accurate paper and digital records, ensuring prompt access to information.

Collate data and produce reports for monitoring the performance of the practice.

Respond to communication from potentially anxious or distressed patients, resolving problems, when possible, in a professional and competent manner.

Ensure all queries from patients, colleagues and external organisations are dealt with quickly and effectively, producing file notes as necessary.

Arrange meetings as requested for the Director/Chiropractor, record and communicate minutes and actions where required, and follow up accordingly.

Contribute to ongoing projects as required.

Keep up to date with technological developments regarding developing appropriate skills in the use of current office technology. e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, databases, electronic mail, presentations etc.

Provide sufficient cover for colleagues during periods of absence.

Maintain and encourage safe working practices and environment in accordance with local Health and Safety Policies.

**ENVIRONMENT**

Be aware of physical effort regarding standing and sitting for long periods.

Be prepared for frequent interruptions to routine, relating to internal and external communication and requests from the Chiropractor or patients.

Be aware of the prolonged exposure to Visual Display Units (VDU) and the associated health and safety risks

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- **Essential**:_

4 GCSE (C and above) or equivalent
- **Desirable**:_

RSA Stage 3 Typewriting, word processing

European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL)

NVQ 3 Business Admin

**EXPERIENCE**

Typing

Secretarial/administrative role

Use of computers and various software programs

Customer care (any field)
